As a doctor I get asked all of the time what causes back pain. Unfortunately sometimes there is just not an answer to that question. That is always very hard for me. I do not like to face patients and let them know that I can not help them at this time but sometimes all I can do is treat their pain. I can always see the disappointment on their faces and that just about kills me. It is not something that a doctor likes to do at all. There are times when I can not even treat the pain.
