There are mainly three kinds of tea that are grown, and these are the ones grown in China, India and the hybrid type. Tea is also known as Camelia sinensis which is a species of plant making up all kinds of tea. The tea that is grown in China has small leaves and are grown in very high places. However, the Indian teas in grown in lower altitude places and tend to be more largely leafed. Hybrid teas, on the other hand, are a basic mixture of teas from India and from china. These come generally in the form of black, white, green and oolong tea. Of these four teas, the white tea is the least processed and probably the rarest wherein the tea leaves are air dried through a process called ‘withering’. Usually, the darker the tea is the more oxidized it is. The lighter the tea is, the more anti-oxidants it will tend to contain.
