Every doctors office has a bunch of different Disposable Surgical Instruments in it. These are usually one time use instruments that are used then put into a recycling bin where they are sterilized (at the factory where they were made in the first place) and recycled into new ones. The beauty of this type of instrument is that you can pretty much guarantee that you will have a sterile device for each patient. This cuts down on problems as each one is individually wrapped and is opened only when it is needed, then is discarded immediately after it’s used. This can cost a bit more but will help prevent lawsuits for malpractice mistakes.
