My neighbor’s house and mine are almost identical. They were built by the same contractor, and he was trying to save money by doing two of the same project. However, when I moved in I did one thing that she didn’t. I bought some mold resistant paint and used it in the basement. I didn’t know if it would make a difference, but just the other day she was at my house complaining that she is starting to have problems with mold downstairs. She asked me if I was dealing with the same thing, and I was able to tell her that my basement walls are still perfectly clean.
