Fair trade cotton is literally a life saver for some farmers in Southern countries in India. For the last two years, cotton has been life or death for farmers – many committing suicide because they haven’t been able to cover their debts with the poor fee they were paid for their cotton. It is the only crop for many South Indian farmers, meaning this is the only way they can make money. This, along with many other reasons, is why you must always insist that any cotton you buy, whether it be cotton pyjamas or cotton curtains, it’s so important that you think about  your actions before purchasing.
