From past experience, I have discovered that it is very important to know what type of photographer I need before hiring someone from the phone book.  I looked up Los Angeles family photographers in the local yellow pages and was provided an ample list to choose from.  I called many of the listings and found one that was available during the time frame that I needed, and she offered a price I could afford.  In the past, I would have not looked at the specialty, thinking that any photographer could provide whatever service I needed.  While they are all very capable, professional people, they really do excel when it’s their specialty.
